Crafting Discussion (NPC Contracts, Alchemist)

Dear Erisians,

We’re back again with a new update, this time focusing on the ability hire Non-Playable Characters (NPCs) and place them into the game world.

What’s a NPC Contract and why should I care about it?

NPCs created by us, the developers, are limited and in order to progress further in the game, it will be necessary to hire your own NPCs. In order to hire your own NPCs, you will need to purchase a Contract. These items work in the same way as Blueprints, however, NPCs hired by use of a Contract can only be placed inside buildings, like the Cottage.

Which player owned NPCs, or Contracts, are currently available?

Players now have access to an Alchemist Contract, which can be purchased from the Innkeeper in the starting village. The Alchemist will allow you to enchant your items with magical properties. In order to craft new items with this NPC, you’ll need to combine an alchemical tincture with any equipment item. Alchemical tinctures can be purchased from the named Alchemist in the starting town. Hint: He lives in a hut near the ocean.

Once you have at least one tincture, speak to a player owned Alchemist and put both the tincture and the equipment item into the crafting interface. When combined, the tincture will be used up and your item will now have new magical properties. The same item can be enchanted as many times as you like until you have the desired affixes.

If you enchant an already enchanted item, the old magical properties will be lost!

Any other changes in Alpha 8?

There is a new login screen and we have made quite a few graphical tweaks that make the game look a lot better. We’ve also improved the raycasting system, so mouse clicks should be more accurate and feel better. Finally, we fixed a bug related to deleting items.

What’s the plan for the next update?

We plan on creating a Player versus Player (PvP) objective somewhere on Red Caye. This will likely take a bit longer and we’ll release more details when it’s finished.

I dont think anyone knows how the crafting works, has it not been developed yet or do we just need to discover it?

so is it already told to us or do we have to guess it?

You have to read the blog post.

We’re working on adding better in-game tutorials so that players don’t have to reference things on the website.
