Just been playing for the last 2 hours and reached level 10. I want to make it clear i am not thrashing the game and it may have potential down the line but for now you will not be able to hold a player base with what feels like if A.I made a game in 5 minutes.
a fair few things are going to need to be just outright redone in my opinion.
first of all, need a more clear focus on which way you want the direction of the game to go. I saw in the front page message that you don’t really care about the pve balance, which i get because you want to focus more on pvp. however it just seems like you have thrown pve in their because other games of this genre has it.
if you want to go the pvp route. delete all pvp for now and just focus on making the character playing fun.
on that note couple of items related to game mechanics:
- i can solo a drakon at level 1, and make 1000 gold in an instant
- many bugs (which is understandable as it is early stage).
- movement feels slugish. slow and clankly
- skills are dodgey at best,
- targeting system will need complete overhaul sometimes just not even functionion.
- classes are not balanced (as a mage you can just beat all if you just move backwards in a straight line or just perma root).
Where i would go from this spot.
-
remove all pve related items for now (leveling included). it just needs too much work and spreads your good ideas thin.
-
focus solely on the pvp aspect (if thats what you want).
2b. if pvp is the focus make it an arena base for now where people can in the lobby change their classes stats items and have fun creating unique builds etc. then allow for requests of duels between players (bots also work if you can manage to create them). then do it by instance base where each arena is seperate to save on lag, fps for the players. -
more focus on balancing classes, if mage can attack at a distance there should be a way for an attacker to outplay. and visa versa a way to close distance or to seperate themselves or to go into a defense mode to prevent the burst.
-
make the combat feel fun, get people coming back and once the game feels fun then can pivot to a leveling pve system where it actually feels rewarding leveling up.
