Inflation and it's Toll on Players

Yes, this is a complaint post which has input from a couple of players I interviewed.

Mines

Ok, I do understand the Gold Mine is supposed to be a place where we can see people murdering each other for Gold, but:-

  • Still way too little - 4k Gold might seem a lot, but the increased prices of the houses, alchemist, and shed have increased a lot more. These might be one-time expenses; however, for newer players or new accounts, this is a very high amount.
  • Enchanting - Enchanting is how we can increase our damage or defence, but the cost for rerolling these enchantments and getting the correct one you need takes around 10k to 20k gold, depending on Luck.
  • Mine timings - I have stated this, and I understand this might not be easy, but currently, most of your playerbase comes from Asia rather than any other continent. For many of us, the timings are way too late for us to be able to log on, fight against people for an hour, and then only receive 4k gold for compensation.
  • Player retention - When the only way to gain any substantial amount of money is to log on at a very specific time, most players will only log in at those exact timings, gain control, and leave until the next day. Many of us who used to play at other times spent it either chatting or grinding Mobs for Gold. However, the drop rate for gold is so low that it takes around 10 hours of continuous grinding to get around 20k gold.

The Drop Rate

I understand this was done so people actually contest for the Gold Mine, but with such a low drop rate, we get almost nothing compared to the amount we could get previously.

Improvements

These are some things I have heard from others:-

  • Increase the drop rate - Maybe not to its previous level, but a slightly more reasonable rate, unlike the atrocious 1% rate. Or if you want, you can make it so the armour pieces only sell for 1/4 or 1/2 the price, and change the rate back to what it was.
  • Better timings - Either keep 2 windows of opportunity or make it better for the asian player base (who constitute most of your player base)
  • More gold - Increased gold rate is preferred. If you are singularly focused on the mine and its timings, without any improvement in drop rate. This is the best way to go.
  • Different way - You and Cathy should take a break, most people said they would like other ways to also earn gold.

Conclusion

The Update in general is great with the territory system, but the Gold Mine could have been implemented better.

Thanks for this detailed post here, we will not always make the best choices so we are relying on you guys to give us feedback when that happens. We have been reading the feedback posted here on the forum and what has been discussed in game and will hopefully address some of these issues with a patch later today.

The cost of enchantments, housing and alchemist also prohibit new players from participating in mine fighting as the grind to get the gold is now very extensive. I also think accessories should cost MORE than regular gear, as it cant be got any way except grinding and at a very low rate. 5 gold doesnt make any sense to me, theyre far more valuable than armor. As stated elsewhere, it used to take me an hour to an hour and a half to fill an inventory, worth about 7k, which i thought was pretty fair. now after an hour, i get about 2k from 4 pieces of gear, 4 accessories and the rest in hoods and loose change.
