Items Discussion (Equipment, Accessories, Loot)

Dear Erisians,

Over the past week, we’ve been improving the itemization of Eris Online. Good itemization, in our view, should a) be random, in order to induce the excitement of getting a particularly powerful or otherwise noteworthy item, and b) should allow for character expression.

What aspects of item randomization were introduced?

Instead of a fixed drop rate, all equipment dropped from monsters now have a 50% chance of spawning with a modifier, which is a randomly generated prefix or suffix that can boost either resistances, attributes, combat or energy statistics. Typical affixes have a range of values from +1-3 and can spawn on weapons, armor or accessories.

Note that not all monsters drop the same items.

What does character expression through itemization mean?

If you are a Fighter, a basic item strategy would be to farm items that boost Strength and Health in order to increase your damage and survivability. Alternatively, you could farm items that boost your Speed to have an easier time chasing down other players, or focus on items that boost Defense so you become nearly impossible to kill.

What’s coming up next in Alpha 7?

In the next update, we will implement the base building system.

I checked, those items are in the loot tables of all mobs, but there is only a 1% chance, like all other accessories.

there are 2 parts of equipment than i miss. and does not know what are they. to the right of helmet and bots there seems to be a space for something .. but what is that something?

To the right of the Head (Helmet) slot there is a Back (Cape) slot. Capes are randomly dropped by monsters currently.

To the right of the Feet (Boots) slot is a Rune slot. It’s another randomly dropped accessory you can find from monsters.

You have all the visible equipment already, but you can find accessories for the rest of the slots except the left hand since you are using a two-handed staff. You should be able to hover over the slots now with your mouse and it’ll tell you which slot its for.

Are accessories purely random drops or only certain monsters drop certain accessories/armour?

or like some monsters have higher drop rates?

Purely random, every monster has a 1% chance to drop each type of accessory.

Armors, clothes etc. too?

No, armor only drops from drakon, mustes, nekros and petrinos at the moment.
