Some QoL suggestions for future implementation

Option to show or hide players in the vicinity.

For example you can choose to see everyone on the screen or only your guildmates/friends.

the game is about pvp bud, not pve. and to prevent bullying, there is a treaty among all influential players currently present. if someone violates it, you can report it in that thread and that player wont trouble you again.

how is that relevant? have you not played any other mmorpg games before?
its basic and common procedure to provide this option to the players.
if one is in an area which has pvp disabled, how would they benefit from having thousands of players roaming around on their screen?
choosing not to render the player models would increase fps and decrease visual clutter

on pvp disabled area, i agree with your point, i also agree with fps and visual clutter but cant fps and visual clutter simply be improved by having multiple servers? also if players cant see each other, how are you going to implement the system of different clans having cities, being at war, interacting with each other, etc.

nevertheless, if you have a solution to it. i will agree with your point but will point potential issues, to which you may neeed to answer.

i have played mmorpgs before but never one wherein the system works like this(you can build cities and be at war in them, you can claim land and need to defend it, etc.)

also current render distance is still applicable. players and map loads in bit by bit when you move, not once and for all. even chat in the game works like this. before this, game was very cluttered, so i do get your point about crashes and fps.

what?? how will more servers fix fps and visual clutter issue lol
you do realize that to render the player models, computer resources are consumed.
to increase fps we simply just choose to not render those players.

also, what part of “option” or “choose” did you not understand?

you mind explaining in simple terms so that a fool like me can understand your words?

yes, ik what you said in your first point but its much easier to render them bit by bit as well. ofc net is consumed much more.

and in “option” and “choose”, it seems you misunderstood me. i simply want to understand how you want to implement those words to a player and expect others to interact with them.

as for multiple servers fixing fps isssues, as far as my understanding goes the lesser resources you need to render, the faster the fps is. having multiple severs simply enables people to be distributed accross various servers. most games use it for the very reason, as far as my understanding goes.

there should be an option in settings that allows a player to see or hide other players.
like if one wants to see only guildmates or friends they can choose that.
if one is in a peaceful and commonly inhabited region they can choose to see only their own character model.

im purely talking about other players, not pve monsters…. obviously they are rendered as you get closer to them

yeah, but having multiple servers is a “future” fix, for now allowing a player to see or hide other players is the best fix

This is very common in modern multi-player games, where players are split off into identical instances to reduce the amount of players on the screen at one time. It’s almost like you are playing a single player game and the other characters are sort of just taking up your resources.

In Eris other players can attack you as soon as you step outside town, so our solution will be to simply reduce the range in which they are loaded in to help with memory management.

i agreed with your point before on peaceful zones before. i dont mean to be rude here but i do suggest you respond after reading something fully(especially when you are going to react in what seems to be a rude tone). my only question came for pvp aspects, which largely make up the game.

not tryna be rude….but ok

Tbh, yes, this should be a feature but currently we have no reason for it. Being able to hide players would solve a lot of issues too, The only thing is would you want it tho, Like let’s say you are about to be ambushed as soon as you step out of town and you didn’t see them due to them hiding? That’s what Kaks wanted to tell you

valid, but i meant areas with peaceful mode only… guess i should’ve been more specific in my suggestion post
