What is Eris Online?

A new sandbox PvP MMORPG where political alliances and conquest shape the world.

A Brief Introduction

Eris Online is a dark fantasy Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG). The game-play focuses on political alliances, feudal conquest and open world Player vs Player (PvP). Wars are entirely player-driven, and influential player characters can control the direction of the game. Everything happens in a seamless, dynamic, and persistent world.

You enter the realm of Eris as a nobody, presented with both opportunity and danger.

What role will you play?

You are free to play the game how you want, all game design decisions are focused on maximizing your choices and fun.

  • Famous and beloved king, helping your friends and defending your kingdom.
  • Manager of a capitalist city-state, remaining neutral to maximize profit.
  • Ganker of noobs, friend to no-one, a scourge on the land.
  • Solo thief stealing items and running from danger.
  • Megalomaniacal tyrant, set on world domination.
  • Or something else entirely, the choice is yours.

Beware—danger is ever-present in this unforgiving realm. Constant vigilance is required to prevent other players from killing you or plundering your hard-earned possessions.

Why play Eris Online?

If you find recent MMOs lacking in creativity and nothing seems to scratch that “itch”, we understand and want to produce a worthy successor to a legendary genre.

  • Fight and loot the inventory of other players in a seamless open-world.
  • Build a sprawling city near the ocean with your friends… then lose it.
  • Join a massive siege and fill the kill logs with your name.
  • Manufacture weapons and armor for your guild.
  • Betray your best friend and steal his city.

Current Status and Plans

Eris Online is currently in the alpha stage of development. This means that while basic features are finished, we are still actively developing the more complex game mechanics.

We plan to build the game publicly, sharing updates and rolling out new content regularly. Most content will be free for everyone, and supporters will receive additional exclusive content.

Unfortunately, it’s not ready yet. Our priority now is to add new races, then we will finish the first area. Once that’s done, you’ll be able to play the characters you create.

It looks interesting. When will we start playing full time?

The core features are basically finished, but we need more time to complete a playable level, it won’t be feature complete, but hopefully give you some idea of the gameplay and what to expect.

Unfortunately at this time it’s difficult to give a timeline, I think in about a month we’ll have a better idea about timelines, so I am hoping to provide a better update then.

Unfortunately you can’t yet, we will release the first level in the first quarter of 2025.

what do you mean by SOME content will be free for everyone is it going to be kinda pay to win or is it gonna have the same system as albion online gold and premium .. in my opinion i think the albion online system might be best , it will bring alot of players while also make you money ofc

We will likely be experimenting with our monetization model for awhile until we figure out what works best. That said, I can assure you: there will be no pay to-win elements. In our view, pay-to-win ruins competitive online games.

We prefer a free/paid subscriber model.

Since the game is currently in alpha development, we plan to release new content early to supporters–such as new races, dungeons, etc. However, this content will later become available to all players as newer content is released.

For those who’d like to support us, we have a Patreon. Subscribers can support our development efforts for $5 USD/month, and as a thank-you, we’re offering:

  • 4 additional character slots
  • A special badge on the forum

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who chooses to subscribe!

I’m looking forward to the game, i seriously hope there is no pay to win. I love MMO games but not a single one has been able to not use pay to win methods. I’ll try out the game today nicely, will try my best to provide a good feedback.

I’m Latino xdd, I don’t know English so I’m using the translator, will the game have a theme similar to WOW?

To answer the topic question: We don’t have a release date yet.

As for similarities with World of Warcraft (WoW), yes and no. The game will be more focused on PvP content, rather than WoW’s PvE focus. However, we retain some classic MMORPG elements that WoW inherited, so there will definitely be some similarities.

Thanks for taking the time to try the game out and for posting on the forum! No worries about the language difference, if we get enough support from Latin American gamers we would be happy to translate the game into Spanish and Portuguese.

We’re almost done, just playtesting internally and fixing bugs. Check back in about a week and we should have a gameplay demo ready.
